Do you vaccinate your animals? Do you use mRNA vaccines?

We do not use mRNA vaccines in any of the animals we raise or sell.

When it comes to traditional vaccines, the answer depends on the species and, in some cases, the farm where the animal was raised.

At Rebel Pastures, we work with both our own farm and trusted partner farms that share our commitment to animal welfare, regenerative agriculture, and transparency. Some of these farms use limited vaccine protocols, while others do not.

One important consideration is the lifespan of the animal. For example, a meat chicken lives only about 7-8 weeks, while a cow may live 14 years or more. The longer an animal lives, the greater its potential exposure to certain diseases, which is why vaccination decisions can differ by species and farm.

Here’s a breakdown by animal:

  • Chicken: No vaccinations.
  • Pork: No vaccinations.
  • Bison: No vaccinations.
  • Lamb: Vaccinated against certain respiratory and clostridial diseases to help protect animal health and welfare.
  • Beef: Some of our partner farms vaccinate, while others do not.

We believe our customers deserve honest answers about how their food is raised. We’re always happy to share what we know.
